It has a couple of bug fixes which makes it more userfriendly. And new properties settings: Hiding of the Menu (for OSX only), hiding of the Mouse Pointer on startup (usefull for installation that should start without human interaction) and bringing the output window into the foreground (usefull for installations where the output window has to be on the desktop and hide the MWServers Userinterface).

It is a prerequisite to bring some experience with 3d modelling tools (not necessary blender) and a basic understanding what UV-mapping is all about.

Projected visual illusion on a building in real scale. Cooperation between ETH Zürich, Information Architecture and Stadtfest Baden. Realized with MeshSarpServer. I was involved to help with the mapping, and it was fun to be back in my hometown to be part of a project like this.
This project actually involved a shifting of the camera frustum, which allowed for changing the viewpoint (the point for the spectator from where the spacial illusion is perfect). The point was shown on the square with a moving head. Unfortunately it is not documented in this video, but you can find more information about this technique here. There is even a Blender file available that shows how it is done.

I also reintroduce the menu-bar. I removed it with Release 005 and replaced it with a pulldown menu inside the Main-Window, because I added the switch to hide the menu bar (for OSX only -> see Properties). But it irritated even me working with a disfunct menu bar. so its here again, and the shortcut “cmd-s” works now too.

and please, if anyting does not work as expected, please drop me a line. Supporting two operating systems makes it quite hard to check if everything works as planned everywhere.

Each TripleHead was showing up in the MonitorSetup with a resolution of 4080×768 which results to 1360×768 for each of the six attached projectors. And even when running a 5000 x 700 pixels sized movie (Apple ProRes Codec) it was running solidly on 55 – 60 fps.

The same performance was watched with a Syphon stream from VDMX with the texture size of 4000 x 1000 pixels.

And EVERYTHING was running smoothly. I have never seen a MacPro with the most powerfull GFX card implemented shown this feat. And this little slim machine didnt even show any sweat while performing like a monster.

I do have to bow to the engineers at apple. This is realy the kind of toy I whished to have for a long time.

Just, if only this new machine allowed more tinkering for tinkerers
